Thai man and ex girlfriend responsible for Bangkok musician's death last month


BANGKOK: — Police have arrested a Thai man and his girlfriend for the murder of a musician stabbed multiple times in Sathupradit Soi 31 last month.

Manat Leerunreuang, 26, who worked at a restaurant in Chan Road was killed in the street on his way home on May 18th. He was stabbed 17 times.

Piyanat (or Thanathip) Boriphan and Sunantha Sotsun, the victim’s ex girlfriend. were arrested yesterday after fleeing to Phuket.

Piyanat admitted the crime saying that the victim was romantically involved with Sunantha before but after splitting up he continued pestering her. He also claimed that Manat had threatened them both with harm reported tnamcot.

Piyanat said that he forced his girlfriend to come with him to get Manat. They saw the victim driving his bike home from the restaurant and followed him. When he parked he got off his own motorcycle and attacked Manat with a knife until he was dead. He then ordered Sunantha to drive them away with him now on the back.

They escaped to Phuket but the police followed their trail.

They were charged with premeditated murder and detained.
